DEEP DIVE ON TODAY’S TOPIC

I was wrong about Google Ads

Many eCom brands have been reaching out and asking us to help them with their Google Ads.

Almost every time we got on a call with them, they said the same thing.

“My ROAS is too low.”

“This is bad. Sales aren’t coming in.”

“Another campaign fail. Google Ads don’t work for my biz.”

It’s funny because that was exactly how I used to respond when a campaign failed.

I would freak out and start searching for hacks for tricks on YouTube.

And worst part is that it got me into an emotional state.

I became nervous.

My heart beat faster.

Thoughts started racing in my head.

And let me tell you this…

When you’re emotional, you start doing what your brain tells you to do instead of what’s best for your business.

I couldn’t count how much money I wasted on the dumb decisions I made when I was being irrational.

But it taught me a valuable lesson:

Stop worrying about things that you can’t control.

Don’t get me wrong lads…

You need to track the data and make decisions based on the numbers.

But that’s not where you should put your energy, time, focus, effort and attention.

You don’t win by obsessing with the outputs.

You win by obsessing with the inputs.

What I meant by that is…

Get rid of these:

“My ROAS sucks”

“Why is my CPC so high?”

“My click-through rate is outrageous”

Instead, focus on what you can control.

When it comes to Google Ads, that means:

Understand your customer on a deeper level.

Write persuasive copy.

Update your keywords.

Give Google better data.

Write clear and direct CTAs.

Optimize your GMC and product feed.

Look for better angles and messaging.

Tailor your landing page to each of your ad groups.

Split-test your copy, product images, and product descriptions.

Your goal is to get a little bit better at those things over time.

And let those little improvements compound on each other.

We’ve worked with over 50 brands and generated over 160 million dollars for them.

And 90% of those results come from the fundamentals.

It’s just optimization after optimization.

It’s using the data to figure out the bottlenecks and then putting all our focus on fixing them.

Once you have all the inputs dialed in… it's only a matter of time before sales start coming in.

That’s all for today lads.
