What happened when a brand 11X’d their ad spend in a month...
A trap most brands walk right into...

“I want to crank up my ad spend and scale to the moon.”
If that sounds like what you’re aiming for, let me give you a word of caution.
Scaling ad spend is when you find out how solid your account’s foundation really is.
For some brands, it’s the leap that takes them to the next level.
For others, it’s when hidden problems finally break the surface.
Last month, we talked to a brand that had scaled their ad spend from $3K to $33K/mo in 30 days.
By the way, these guys are doing 8-figures annually. So brands in this position often think, they have the budget to blow, let’s scale.
It looked like a success story…
…But once we pulled the numbers apart, we saw something different:
They were promoting every product they had… without tracking how each one performed.
As a result, $29K of their budget was going to products that were losing money.
In other words… most of their extra spend was funding items that would never pay them back.
In the early stages, telling Google to push all your products isn’t necessarily a bad idea.
It gives the algorithm room to find which products have potential.
The problem comes when you let it run on autopilot.
Because if you don’t step in, a huge portion of your budget will be burned by products that were never built to win.
That’s why you need a tight monitoring process that adapts as performance shifts.
Something that:
Continually spots new winners as they emerge and cuts unprofitable ones
Builds dedicated campaigns for top performers
Adjust bids and budgets based on different performance tiers
It’s easy to confuse a “wide catalog” with a “bloated one.”
And the bigger your budget, the more that problem grows.
When it comes to Google Ads, a small group of products usually drives the majority of profit.
And the best way to push ad spend isn’t about scaling everything you’ve got.
It’s about scaling the right things, in the right way
