How to (not) approach BFCM

When I look at how brands approach BFCM, I notice they fall into 2 categories.
There are “Sales-First” brands and there are “Strategy-First” brands.
Sales-First brands treat BFCM as a giant sales event.
They drop big discounts, crank up ad spend, and hope that sheer volume will compensate for their shrinking profit margins.
It’s stressful. And most of the time, they end up giving away profit just to “stay competitive.”
Strategy-First brands play a different game.
They focus on smart strategies that let them take full advantage of the event… while keeping a healthy margin.
These brands usually end November with record profits and strong momentum that carries them through December and beyond.
