how I ran ads 4 years ago vs how I run ads now

the biggest change I made that led us to such a different outcome

Over the last month, we generated $24.5M with Google Ads.

On average, our clients get $5.5 for every dollar they spend.

I don’t know about you but that sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

But it wasn’t like that 4 years ago.

When I started my agency, I had no clue what I was doing with Google Ads.

The result I got for my first clients was so bad that they literally FIRED me after 2 months.

It was embarrassing.

So what’s the biggest change I made that led us to such a different outcome?

It’s the level of deliberate effort the team and I put into our clients’ ad accounts.

It’s the difference between “I’ll just follow this tutorial and see how it performs” vs “If we do this, it’ll make more money for our clients. So we’ll do it.”

You can see a similar type of phenomenon in ads that are created by professionals versus ads that are created by shallow advertisers using tricks and hacks.

I’m not saying hacks and tricks won’t convert.

It might.

But it’s not replicable. They won’t be able to do it again because all they do is just copy and paste.

To turn Google Ads into a reliable and predictable acquisition channel, you need to approach it like a craftsman.

That’s what I notice in successful ad accounts.

They put more time into research than their competitors.

They put more effort into the copy and creative than what’s required.

They optimize their ad account to the best of their ability instead of just doing good enough.

This is the approach required to succeed with Google Ads.

Once you’ve done this, saturation or competition becomes meaningless.

Because you simply outwork and outsmart everyone else.
