[NEW UPDATE] Google’s adding new AI tools for Shopping LIVE
Big changes are coming to Google

A week ago, Google rolled out several new AI shopping features.
And two in particular caught my attention:
1. Virtual Try-on: Users can upload a photo to see how clothes would look on them.
2. Price Alerts: Shoppers can set a target price and get notified when the product hits it.
My thoughts on these?
First, let’s talk about the virtual try-on feature.
The use case here is pretty straightforward:
If people can see how something fits on their own body, they’ll feel more confident about buying it.
And honestly…
I believe this could have a positive effect on conversion rates.
One of the biggest objections apparel brands face is “Will this look good on me?”
Shoppers might like an item but hesitate because they aren't sure how it will fit on them.
But when they can visualize it on themselves?
That hesitation fades, and they will feel more certain about buying.
It could also cut down return rates by closing the gap between what customers expect and what they get in reality.
That's the immediate benefit I see here.
But what excites me is the indirect effect.
Virtual try-on isn’t a new concept.
Plenty of apps have offered this kind of feature over the past few years.
And while people like the idea…
Very few want to go through the hassle of using a separate app just for that one feature.
That’s why it’s such a smart move for Google to integrate it into Search & Shopping.
It makes the experience accessible to everyone, right at the moment that matters most:
Before they decide to buy.
This feature has the potential to attract new shoppers and more importantly…
Position Google as the place where final purchase decisions actually happen.
The same goes for the Price Alerts feature.
I know a lot of people who want a product but hold off on buying because they’re waiting for a better deal.
Giving people a way to set alerts solves that exact problem.
Now, when the price drops, Google can bring those buyers right back to your product.
It’s a small friction removed, but one that actually leads to higher conversion… especially during promo periods or BFCM.
That means more potential customers for you.
More revenue on the table.
Admittedly, this all assumes that people actually use these features, and that they find them helpful.
We’ll need to wait for the data to see how much these features actually move the needle.
But honestly?
I’d be surprised if they didn’t.
These tools aren’t just some “cool” AI features that no one asked for.
They directly address common issues and problems that nearly every shopper has.
And I know for a fact that many people want these features and will benefit from them.
So overall, I would say that…
This is great news for e-commerce brands.
Especially for the ones who’ve got their Google Ads setup dialed in.
Because tools like these will amplify everything that’s already working for you.
