Google ads vs. Meta ads
This shouldn’t be a debate

Jackson here,
Today, I want to talk about what’s on a lot of eCommerce brands’ minds
The Google vs Meta debate.
To be honest, I don’t agree with the separation approach at all.
You don’t need either or, this is an idea spread by agencies with a scarcity mindset.
“yOu HaVe tO cHoOsE OnE”
It doesn't work like that.
All channels feed off each other one way or another.
The simplest explanation goes like this.
Awareness is created on Meta.
Your customers are casually browsing, they see a Meta ad and get introduced to your product for the first time. Awareness.
This doesn’t always result in a direct sale. The buyer cycle isn’t always that clear cut.
That’s where having a channel like Google dialed in is so important.
Your SEO + your paid ads allows you to capture the intent Meta created.
Over the 100 brands we’ve partnered with we see a consistent pattern. 90% of them starting on Google before signing on with us are pulling 70-80% branded traffic. And this just supports my point.
Yes, you can optimize Google to help you find NEW customers. But you can also use to capture existing people in your potential customer pool - people that know about you off Meta, TikTok or any other channels in your marketing mix.
To reiterate:
Google catches people actively searching for solutions - they're ready to buy.
Meta plants the seed before they even know they need your product.
By using both, you're essentially creating a digital safety net that catches customers at every stage of their journey.
Google's search data shows you what people want right now.
Meta's behavioral data reveals what they'll want next.
Don't put all your eggs in one basket.
Here’s a Quick Action Plan:
Audit your current platform performance
Identify gaps in your customer journey
Create content that works across both platforms
Test different budget allocations
Monitor cross-platform performance
