A weird trick we use to find high-intent, low-competition keywords
The better way to do competitive research

The traditional approach to competitive research is to look at what other brands are currently doing.
That’s useful. But incomplete.
We’ve helped our clients capture an extra 6 or even 7 figures in revenue by reactivating “dead” keywords.
These are keywords that competitors used to bid on… but aren’t anymore.
Now, think about that for a second.
If a brand were investing money into a keyword…
That means they saw potential there.
And when they stop, it’s typically for one of two reasons:
1. It wasn’t profitable
2. It was profitable. But they wanted to shift budgets elsewhere or just did it by accident (which happens all the time).
Either way, these keywords are invaluable.
They typically have search volume and purchase intent behind them.
And since your competitors have abandoned them…
The door is wide open for you to step in and grab that traffic at a discount.
So look at which keywords your competitors used to run, then ask yourself:
Is it worth testing again?
Because if it wasn’t profitable, great. You just dodged a bullet.
But in many cases, you’ll find profitable keywords that your competitors just handed over for no reason.
If you want to see how to find these in action...
We just released a YouTube Video on how to spy on competitors’ Google Ads.
You’ll see me talking about uncovering their “dead” keywords around the 4:20 mark.
On top of that…
This video also covers 4 tools we use to reverse engineer any brand’s strategy in under 10 minutes.
